STEALIN’ THE SPOTLIGHT: With a team-leading 68 steals in 2008-09, Waller’s superior size at the guard position provided match-up problems for opposing squads.  She registered a career-high seven steals at UNC Wilmington (Jan. 25, 2009) and finished the season second on the team with 12 blocks and 170 rebounds, while dishing out 75 assists, third most on the Rams.

MS. CLUTCH: Waller made a name for herself with late-game heroics during her sophomore campaign in 2007-08.  She hauled in seven rebounds and scored 20 points at James Madison (Jan. 20, 2008), including the game-winning free throw in overtime.  Later that year, Waller helped keep the Rams’ CAA Tournament hopes alive by hitting the game-winning layup against Northeastern with 1.2 seconds remaining in the tournament quarterfinals.

STEPPIN’ UP AS A SOPHOMORE: After averaging 3.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per outing as a freshman, Waller scored 35 points and grabbed 12 boards in her first two games as a sophomore, including a 23-point, six rebound effort at American (Nov. 13, 2008).  She also received CAA Player of the Week honors on Jan. 21, 2009 after scoring a combined 32 points against conference powers Old Dominion and James Madison.

FRESH FACE: After averaging 0.8 points and just one rebound in her first eight games as a freshman, Waller averaged 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in her final 15 games.  She enjoyed a career day to propel the Rams to a road win at Drexel (Feb. 11, 2007) with 15 points, four steals and four rebounds.  She also hit 7-of-7 free throws and 4-of-6 field goals against the Dragons.

PRIOR TO VCU:

ACCOLADES ABOUND: Waller enjoyed a successful career at Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Ga., playing four years of basketball and two seasons of softball.  She was a member of two state championship squads and was an all-state selection, while receiving Gainesville Times Player of the Year honors following her senior season.  Waller still holds the school record for career steals.

NATIONAL CHAMPS: Alongside fellow VCU senior D’Andra Moss, Waller won a pair of AAU National Championships with the Georgia Metros.
