Coach Kristen Dowling,
Pepperdine NCAA D1 about Katie: Katie Williams is an exceptional athlete who is a very versatile player.
She can consistently shoot the 3, get to the rim at ease in
transition and in the half court, rebounds the ball well despite her
size (5’9, 140 lbs), and can lock up the opposing team’s best
player. As a senior, she led her team (Division 1 National
Independent Player of the Year, Led team to first Division 1 Post
Season Appearance) team in points, rebounds, and steals. Katie is an
extremely competitive player who hates to lose at anything and
therefore constantly give’s 110% on every possession and every
practice. Her athleticism combined with her competitiveness
will instantly make any team better. Like most exceptional athletes,
at the professional level, Katie will need to continue to improve on
her fundamental skills (footwork, passing, jump stop) as she has
been able to rely on her athleticism to make up for any deficiency
in fundamentals.
