I, Laura Zasly, started off my college career getting a Division 1 soccer scholarship at Marist College in New York in the MAAC (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). At Marist College I was successful as a soccer player at the division 1 level, I started every game my freshman and sophomore year at center-midfield and played the majority of minutes of the game and was among the top in points on my team. When I was at Marist College , in addition to playing soccer full time, I practiced with the Marist College Women's Basketball team as well as continued to practice and workout in basketball on my own. When I was practicing with the Marist Women’s Basketball Team I helped them get to the NCAA Division 1 Sweet Sixteen tournament Appearance in 2006-2007 and then in 2007-2008 I continued to practice with the Marist Women’s Basketball Team and helped them get into the NCAA tournament to the Round of 32. Then after 2 years of playing soccer I wanted to play basketball for the love of the game and I missed playing basketball full time so I transferred to Skyline Junior College and played basketball there for 1 year. At Skyline College I got First Team All Coast Conference and 2nd Team All-State in California . I lead my team in almost all the categories across the statistic board. After that one year I earned a basketball scholarship to a Division 2 school, Notre Dame de Namur University and played basketball there. Right as I stepped in on the basketball court I made an impact on my team and in the conference. At Notre Dame de Namur I earned First Team All-Pacific West Conference, Newcomer of the Year, and Runner up for player of the Year in the Pacific West Conference. I averaged 16.1 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game, 2.7 assist per game, and 2.9 steals per game. I also broke the single season record for single season steals at Notre Dame de Namur University. I lead my team in almost all the categories across the statistic board. I am a 5'10'' athletic guard who can play the 1, 2, and 3 positions that can score, pass, dribble, and shoot from all ranges. I love the game of basketball and want to continue to play for many more years! Every day I work harder and harder to improve my game and become a better player. Hard work and dedication is my foundation.
