TV 1872 Saarlouis is a general sports club in Saarland, Germany

 Started as head coach of both men and women’s teams. Later

concentration on only the female team: leaded it from 4th league to

First (national) League in only 3 years. Reached European

competition (Ronchetti Cup) in 2000

 From the beginning the development of a concept of how to bring

Basketball to a high-performance sport in the region was one goal of

the engagement.

 Building up the entrepreneurial background: foundation of a

company for sports promotion (SF Promotion GmbH, 1995) -

managing this company as one of two directors from 1995 to 1999;

later as advisor with ongoing contacts with (current and potential)

sponsors

 Building up the sportive background: Foundation of a Sports School

in Saarlouis 1995 (including kayaking, handball and gymnastics) in

order to provide basketball talents with the best possible sports

education.

 Development of the marketing concept for women basketball in

Germany together with the DBBL (German Woman Basketball

Association). As a result conduction and promotion of „Challenge

Round“ U16 and U18 (1997, 2000) and „Season Open“ (2000) in

Saarlouis

 Organisation of regular events (on exhibitions, at schools) to

represent (especially female) Basketball and attract new talents: Best

example: Campaign „Come on girls, let’s play basketball!“, 1999, in

co-operation with German Ministry for Women, German Basketball

 1997: Received the „Hermann Neuberger Award“ (15,000 DM) for

the ideas for and realisation of advancement of basketball in

Saarland, Germany.

the continuity of the work awarded before.
