Biography Frank Holloway is
in his second season at FIU as an assistant basketball coach. Coach
Holloway is in charge of International recruitment, south eastern and
northwestern recruitment in the United States. Coach Holloway’s duties
consist of scouting and video scouting reports for all opponents,
conducting all video exchange procedures within the conference, Team
travel, Housing coordinator, Academic coordinator, and individual skill
workouts during the off season. Before coming to FIU, Holloway spent the
2008-09 basketball season coaching his professional basketball team to
an undefeated season in Germany. Holloway is no stranger to the European
game, he spent 2 seasons (2006-07 and 2008-09) coaching and playing
professionally in Switzerland and Germany. He has also spent a brief
stint as an assistant coach with the Dusseldorf Magics in the Bundesliga
Pro-A for the 2007-08 basketball season. Due to financial problems
within the club, he was forced to leave and head back to his alma mater,
Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. While at Lindsey Wilson
College he worked in the admissions office and served as an assistant
coach for the Blue Raiders. From 2004-2006,
Holloway served as a graduate basketball assistant for the men's
basketball program at Wesley College (NCAA,Div.III) located in Dover,
Delaware. He was involved in a variety of day-to-day operations within
the men's basketball program, including arranging individual post
work-outs, coordinating film exchange, scouting opponents, strength
programs, and monitoring the student athletes academic progress.
Holloway was also head of junior college and international recruitment
for the men's basketball program. Through 2001-2004,
Holloway was a student assistant coach for the Blue Raiders of Lindsey
Wilson College (NAIA Div. I). During his time on the men's basketball
staff, the Blue Raiders set numerous school records and stringed
together consecutive trips to the NAIA National Tournament. In 2003-2004
the Blue Raiders achieved the best record in the schools history thus
far. The Blue Raiders went 33-4 on the season, and made it to the elite
eight of the NAIA national tournament. During that same year the Blue
Raiders went on a 22 game winning streak to start off the season, best
in school history. Holloway earned his bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry with a emphasis in Secondary Education from Lindsey Wilson College. He also received his masters degree in Environmental Science from Wesley College. Coach Holloway is originally from Saint Cloud ,Florida and currently lives in Miami.
